Obituary

CAMERON, Evelyn Dorothea (née Montieth) died peacefully on Friday December 13, 2019 at Linhaven Home for the Aged in St. Catharines, Ontario. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband (Alistair) and by one of her daughters (Susan). Evelyn is survived by her daughter Alison (Tom) of Perth, Scotland, her son Colin (Elayne) and her grandchildren Benjamin, Anna, and Andrew of Burlington, Ontario, and her sister Betty of Welland, Ontario, and her brother Robert of Scotland. Evelyn came to Canada in 1964 to marry the love of her life. Evelyn was a talented needlework artist, and was involved in many charitable activities through the Fenwick Lioness Club, and St. David’s Anglican Church, Welland. In Canada, Evelyn worked at the Welland Leather Goods store (and probably spent more money on yarn than she made) and at Coles in Niagara Square (where she probably spent more on books than she made). Friends and family will be received on Monday, December 16 from 7-9 at PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham St, Fonthill. A funeral to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at St. David’s Anglican Church, 369 Thorold Rd. in Welland on Tuesday, December 17 at 10:30 A.M. Donations to St. David’s Anglican Church, Welland or The Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.pedlarfuneralhome.ca

I had the pleasure of seeing your mom on a regular basis when she had her hair done at Agnes Kauffman's salon where I worked for many years. She had the best sense of humour! My three boys all came home from the hospital wearing her beautifully knit outfits which I plan to keep in the family. May God comfort your family as you gather to celebrate her life knowing that she will remembered fondly.
Sincerely, Sharon Rodger Carbone

Hi Colin,
Thinking of you and your Family as you recall many wonderful memories of your dear Mom. She certainly was a very talented lady. My Mom and I went to your home many times for her help in our knitting projects.
Sincerely,
Judy Yaromich and Family.
