Obituary

PINDER, Hazel Margaret (nee Linton). It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother Hazel Pinder, at Rapplje Lodge in Welland. Hazel left us on Monday September 16th 2019 at the age of 99 years and 9 months. Predeceased by her husband George (1999), parents Charlotte (nee Cole) and Alfred Linton, brothers Earnest and Alfred Linton, sister Lilian Powell-Provost (nee Linton), step-mother Caroline Linton (Bergstrom nee Monks), half-sister Margaret Shonk (nee Bergstrom), and survived by sister-in-law Margaret Helen Linton (nee Erskine). She leaves behind her loving family including daughters Linda (and husband John Ellsworth), Janet (Oram), Charlotte (and husband Bob Dussault), and Wendy (and husband Steve Doede). Hazel was a devoted grandmother to grandchildren Shawn Ellsworth (and wife Sonia nee Levesque), Christopher Oram, Stephanie Babin (nee Oram and husband Dwain), Melissa Young (nee Dussault and husband Wayne), Dean Dussault (and wife Kerri nee Vandewert), Caitlin Pinder-Doede (and partner Phillipe Gautreau) and Carrie Pinder-Doede, and great-grandchildren Jessica and Trenton Dussault, Spencer and Cameron Ellsworth and Riley Babin. Hazel showed remarkable resilience throughout her lifetime, living through a century of changes and world events including 2 World Wars and the Great Depression. She enjoyed working in many roles outside the home until she retired from the Sports Department at Welland Canadian Tire. Hazel will be cremated and a Celebration of Life and interment for the immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Rapplje Lodge Foundation where Hazel was cared for with love and compassion the last 11 years of her life. Online condolences may be placed at www.pedlarfuneralhome.ca. .

Sincere condolences to the Pinder family on the loss of your mom. Our family got to know Hazel over the years through several Dussault family gatherings and I know our mom enjoyed her golf dates with Hazel as well. She was a lovely lady. May she rest in peace.
