Obituary

Lukacs, Imre James "Jim"

Passed away peacefully at the Port Colborne Hospital on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of over 41 years to Anne (nee McMullen) and predeceased by his first wife Mary (1977), son Jimmy (1970) and son Eddie (2017). Loving father of Everett (Stacey) and Veronica Lukacs (Michael McGough). Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Tamara, Ireland and Mackenzie. Predeceased by his brothers Erno, Frank, Steve, Joe, John and sister Margaret.

Born in Velem, Hungary, James moved to Canada in 1956. Jim was a business owner for fifteen years, he then worked as a butcher at Pupo's Grocery Store until his time of retirement in 1994. Jim will be remembered as a kind and social person. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Port Colborne General Hospital.

Family and friends will be received at the PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Tuesday, November 19th from 7 to 9 pm. Vigil Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Ann Catholic Church, 834 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Wednesday, November 20th beginning at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow and the rite of committal will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland on a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Foundation of Canada.
