Ed, Marissa and Kiefer. My deepest sympathies to you all. I am at a loss for words. I will miss our conversations about what she could do different with her hair but the least work possible. I would look at her and we would laugh cause we both knew it wasn't changing. She was a beautiful person and it was a pleasure doing her hair for over 15 years. My heart goes out to you all.

I remember the day we met. It was freshman move-in day at the University of Louisville. Marissa came over and hugged all of us as if we were best friends for years! Jami & Marissa were roommates together and rowing teammates for the next 4 years. Marj & Ed were just the nicest parents and we felt very confident that our daughter would have a good first year in college. We couldn't wait to get back together at the Red & Black regattas to hang out with our new parent friends Marj & Ed! They told us all about Kiefer & Marissa's athletic endeavors and all the sporting events that they volunteered at. We had so much in common as parents. Even though they complain about the heat in Celsius (not Fahrenheit) and eat "dressed" chips, we are similar in many ways. We still can't believe that Marj is gone so young, but her spirit and love & pride in her children will definitely live on in generations to come. Lots of love to Ed, Marissa & Kiefer from the Montesano Family.

Marj would always be a reliable one when I needed someone to time at the rowing regattas. I still see her sitting at the front near the window with the capture button in her hand waiting for the next race to come across so she could capture their time and in between she would talk lovingly of her children and how well they were doing in everything they pursued. Marj will be missed and she will be remembered at every rowing regatta that we have in the future because she was that type of person whose fantastic personality will never be forgotten.

Dear Ed, Marissa and Kiefer, I’m so saddened to learn of Marj’s passing. A life cut too short. Although we hadn’t seen each other lately, I have wonderful memories of four years of regattas, cheering and laughing and loving our kids. Valerie Coffey xo
